Todd Passey Mountain Guide

Spending time in the mountains is almost always a rewarding experience. In the mountains I challenge myself, I experience Pain, Joy, boredom, and fear. I've laughed, and wanted to cry. I've seen incredible beauty and inspiring sites. Without exception each trip to the mountains teaches me something of value.

Climbing Life

Climbing is more than just an activity. For me and many like me, climbing is a lifestyle.  My wife is a climber and many of my friends are climbers.  I spend the majority of my time talking about, prepareing for or in the act of climbing.   I make my money as a professional climber and spend a disproportionate amount of the money I make on trips, gear and other climbing related endevors.
I don't have an ego about it, even if my self perception is based on it. I know, in some ways it may seem a bit odd, the extent to which my life revolves around an endevor so selfish and in the big picture meaningless.  I do it because if feels right.  I love the challenge and uncertaintly, the views, the movement and the travel.  There is nothing like the feelings climbing invokes; fear, Jubilation, intese focus and mind numbing boardom.  My climbing partners are people I trust my life with, even though I wouldn't trust any of them with my sister.
We all have to choose where we dedicate our time and resources.  For me climbing is the good life!
